So it begins...

Welcome family, friends, and all. Here you will find thoughtful insights, trivial quibbles, and non-stop fun as the Budd family and all its friends and wanna-be friends read the book of the month and join the discussions.

The first book will be a short but powerful read, "Man's Search for Meaning" (sometimes is titled "Man's Search for Meaning: An Introduction to Logotherapy"), by Dr. Victor Frankl.

I suggest we have the first tele-book club meeting via conference call the on Friday, November 18th, 2010 at 9:PM (after the kiddos have gone to bed :).

The idea here is that about once per month we'll read a book, have discussions on the blog while we are reading, then do a one hour or shorter conference call at the end to enlighten, debate, and have a blast!

Please email any suggestions you want to implement at j.riddle0512@gmail.com.

  1. Love it! Thanks Hannah and Jacob for organizing MOB. I am excited to get started. I have already read Man's Search for Meaning and it is incredible. I remember walking away feeling extremely motivated and I look forward to the feeling again.

  3. Audio books are my friend right now - I'm 1 out of 1 on the hold list for the audio book. Then I shall join the discussion. Thanks!

  4. I'm still waiting for a copy from the library of the book. I read it when I was in college, but I have been reading online excerpts/analysis' of the book. It is very interesting. I think I'll just go get a copy at the bookstore since the library's are all out. I did get an additional version of the book from the library that I think I'll read after I read Man's Search for Meaning.
    How's everyone else's reading going?

  5. Thanks for the re-invite. I'm about 2/3 through the book. I'll post some thoughts later. One thing that would be cool is to (in the blog settings) set it to automatically notify those who would like it when there's a new post or comment. It might keep some discussions going.
